Living with Wood

Living with Wood Process

The overall vision of the “Living With Wood” process is to promote and increase the consumption of wood products for interior design, decoration, renovation and maintenance.

Therefore “Living with wood” tries to achieve a substantial and sustained change in attitudes towards wood and wood products, leading to an increase of wood consumption for interior decoration, renovation and new building. It also encourages the use of wood by those who specify and use wood: consumers, architects, engineers, designers, students and teachers.

Wood makes a natural case for itself inside and outside the home!

Today, wood offers an infinite variety of possibilities for beauty, innovation, ecology, efficiency and adaptability. Wood offers us the foundation for a new way of living where wood unites nature with technology, reason with desire and beauty with efficiency.

Wood gives our surroundings a feeling of welcome, comfort and harmony. It is also aesthetically pleasing, functional, secure, easy to use and maintain. Furthermore, the use of wood is flexible enough to adapt effectively to current trends, with differences in structures and textures, surfaces and forms, ornaments and colours. All types of design can be created and applied. This versatility of wood means that each person can express its individuality!

For interior design purposes, wood is a material that has no equal!

Using wood inside the house combines timeless beauty with robust practicality. Wood paneling, ceilings, floors and furniture add character to the rooms while covering defects or irregularities, simplifying the fitting of lighting and ventilation systems, protecting against static electricity, improving insulation, balancing humidity and providing a maintenance-free surface. Furthermore wooden applications are beautiful, practical, healthy and durable. They are hard wearing yet warm to the touch.

But not only inside the home wood serves practical and aesthetic purposes. Also in gardens, wood remains the material of choice for modern gardeners. It is inexpensive, with endless possibilities (fencing, decking, pergolas, pagodas, glasshouses, etc.) and fits into the natural surroundings of landscape and garden.

Wood saves energy while respecting the environment!

The use of wood is not only beautiful and practical, it is also economic and environmentally friendly. Wood is the only renewable building material and is an environmentally sound material. It provides intelligent solutions in terms of saving energy and respecting the environment.

As wood can control the humidity and ambient temperature, it can cut down energy consumption. Furthermore wood can filter and clean the air and absorb natural radioactivity. Another quality of wood is its excellent soundproofing insulation.
